Darien Police say they responded to a home on Kensett Lane on a report of underage consumption of alcohol on Saturday, Sept. 21 around 9:30 p.m.
When officers arrived on the scene, they say no one would answer the front door.
Upon walking to the back of the home, officers, who were still unable to contact an occupant of the residence, looked through a window and allegedly observed empty beer cans and liquor bottles on the floor.
When speaking with a neighbor, police say they were told that the homeowner was away for the weekend, but the teenage daughter was home.
Police contacted the homeowner, who confirmed that her 15-year-old daughter was supposed to be staying with friends.
The homeowner then contacted her daughter, who police say returned to the home and did not appear to be intoxicated.
The home was checked for potentially intoxicated minors, but none were found, police say.
When questioned, the 15-year-old stated that she believed teens came to the home with alcohol after learning that it would be unoccupied, police say. She also allegedly told officers that she did not invite any guests to the home or provide any alcohol.
